Frequently Asked Questions

What does CBD Oil do?

Let’s start with the basics. What what does CBD oil mean?

CBD means Cannabidiol and it is one of the most active ingredients of cannabis next to THC (tetrahydrocannabinol). Unlike cannabis, CBD does not contain THC and is derived from the hemp plant, rather than the marijuana plant. CBD can actually be found in both the marijuana plant and the hemp plant, but when extracted from hemp, you will not find any THC. Usually, when CBD is extracted from hemp, it is blended with a carrier oil to make a tincture.

Perhaps the most important difference to know between THC and CBD is that CBD will not create a ‘high’ or ‘stoned’ effect. For this reason, CBD is used for purely medicinal and holistic purposes, and it shows no effects that indicate a potential dependence or abusive nature. In fact, according to the World Health Organization, there is no evidence to date to show that CBD is associated with any public health-related problems.

CBD is most commonly used to alleviate and reduce anxiety, depression, sleeping disorders, and chronic pain. It has also been proven to be especially effective at treating epilepsy conditions and conditions that can cause muscle stiffness or spasms. It is ingested through smoking, vaping, eating, drinking, or applying topically.

CBD oil can be taken between 20 – 40 minutes to come into effect, and depending on your dosage, can last for up to 5 hours.

How is CBD oil made?

CBD oil is created by first extracting CBD from (in our case) a hemp plant, and then blending it with a carrier oil which will complement and fortify CBD. Common carrier oils are hemp seed (also an excellent way to use byproducts of hemp) or coconut oil. This will result in CBD oil, which is then usually packaged in a glass bottle with a dropper and sold as a tincture.

There are a number of extraction methods used to create CBD, with perhaps the most popular being the CO2 method. This method often uses closed-loop extractors to draw out CBD efficiently. Using a closed-loop extractor helps to keep CBD especially pure, as the CBD will never contact outside air. Other methods of extraction include the ancient oil extraction method and liquid distillation.

All of our CBD oils come from organic, carefully treated, and maintained hemp plants and we’re always looking for new and innovative ways to improve standards of CBD oil creation for the highest-quality CBD oil that is at the forefront of the market.

Does CBD Oil work?

Simply put, yes. CBD oil has had plenty of research to show that it effectively provides relief from several conditions and disorders, with particular advantages to chronic pain, muscle spasms, depression, anxiety, and muscle stiffness. But is CBD oil effective? The benefits that CBD oil has to our brains and bodies are scientifically-backed to the point that both CBD and THC are legal in Canada, certain states in America, Jamaica, Uruguay, the Netherlands, and more. And, in all these countries as mentioned above, CBD oil is highly popular as a more homeopathic solution to medicine.

If you take high quality, pure CBD oil, the results will always be better than that of lower quality.

How do you take CBD Oil drops?

When deciding how to take CBD oil, it’s important to first work out your dosage. How much CBD oil you take is entirely dependant on the strength of the oil you buy, and your purpose of taking it.

Once you have determined your dosage, simply fill the dropper in your tincture bottle with the CBD oil. Then administer this oil underneath your tongue and before you swallow, hold it for 30 seconds to 90 seconds. CBD oil has been created to be administered on the soft tissue underneath the tongue.

Does CBD oil have THC?

CBD oil vs. THC is a constant topic that’s important to understand.

Whether or not CBD contains THC is entirely dependant on the plant that it comes from. When extracted from marijuana, CBD tends to contain high levels of THC, resulting in a ‘high’ when taken.

When CBD is extracted from hemp, which is the sister plant to marijuana, it has a much lower THC concentration. The legal requirement for hemp is that it contains 0.3% of THC or less. As all our CBD is extracted from EU regulated hemp, our THC levels are always beneath 0.2%.

Is CBD Oil legal in the UK?

Currently, CBD oil is legal in the UK but it must adhere to two requirements:

1) It does not contain more than 0.2% of THC. THC is classified as a controlled substance under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.

2) It must be derived from a strain of hemp that is EU-approved, or it must come from outside the EU.

Where to buy CBD Oil?

On our website, of course! We have it in both 5% and 10% concentration, in bottles of 10 and 30 ml.

It’s important to remember that when it comes to buying CBD oil for any medicinal or holistic purpose, only purchase high-quality, pure CBD oil that can be sourced to the field. All of our CBD oil comes from 100% organically grown hemp plants grown in a pure and organic growth environment in Estonia, and all our hemp and CBD adheres to strict EU regulatory standards for your peace of mind.

Can I travel with CBD oil?

In most European travel cases, CBD oil is fine to carry within the continent if it contains less than 0.2% THC. In some countries such as the UK, CBD oil with more than 0.2% of THC is considered illegal.

Travel to the USA is similar, and travel is allowed here if there is less than 0.3% THC in your CBD oil. However, certain states may have certain regulations. In Canada, all forms of CBD oil are allowed.

Please check with your local airline for any specific regulations that may be in place and research both local and national laws to be on the safe side.

Is CBD oil halal?

For much of the Islam population, CBD oil is considered to be halal because of two reasons.

1) It is an organically produced plant extract.
2) It contains such trace amounts of THC, that it will not create an intoxication effect.

Are CBD oil and hemp oil the same?

Although they are commonly confused, Hemp and CBD oil are two very different products. Not only are they derived in two different ways but they also offer a variety of disparate benefits.

CBD oil vs. hemp oil:

CBD oil comes directly from the hemp plant itself and is called such because CBD is the main active ingredient. A common misconception about CBD oil is that it will produce a high sensation – likened to the plant it comes from. However, CBD itself isn’t a psychoactive substance, it’s THC which produces a high effect, and this is not present in CBD oil or if it is, the amount will often be too little to register.

The main benefits of CBD oil are therapeutic, as it has been known to alleviate symptoms of anxiety, low mood and to help with discomfort and pain. Many people like to use it in conjunction with medical treatment or will turn to it as a natural alternative.

Hemp oil, however, is derived from pressing hemp plant seeds and offers its own set of benefits. Whereas CBD oil is mostly therapeutic, hemp oil offers nutritional benefits and is used in beauty and skincare products as well as food products, it’s even used in more industrial products such as plastics and lubricants. Hemp oil is preferred by those who are looking to improve nutrition for its pleasant walnut-like taste and wealth of fatty acids.

Can CBD oil make you tired?

CBD can be received by different bodies, differently, so the way it is absorbed into your system might affect how active or inactive it makes you feel. While CBD oil will not cause you to feel lethargic, dizzy or impaired, it has been shown to help with sleep disorders and is used by those who struggle to fall asleep. It’s for this reason that many can confuse it as affecting your normal state. However, it is well researched that CBD does not have a sedative effect and will simply aid bodily pain, stress, and discomfort.

Will CBD oil make me sleepy?

Whilst CBD oil has relaxing therapeutic benefits it doesn’t cause drowsiness. A common misconception is that CBD oil behaves in the same way as THC, the element in hemp which causes highness and can make people feel sleepy or dizzy. However, despite CBD being directly derived from the same plant, it does not contain THC and thus, will not have the same adverse effects by impairing cognition or judgment. CBD has been known to make us feel quite the opposite, it is energizing and calming all at the same time – it essentially helps to enhance our natural state without affecting cognition it helps to improve it.

Can CBD oil keep you awake?

If you struggle with your sleep or are concerned about how CBD oil could affect it, the good news is, is that CBD oil will help you get more sleep and better sleep. This is because CBD and THC are two very different things. THC, which is found in cannabis and known for its dizzying effects, is psychoactive, which is very different from CBD, which is not and offers the opposite effect, by actually improving cognition.

Can CBD oil cause insomnia?

People often worry that CBD oil might contribute to poor sleep, even wondering, can CBD oil cause insomnia? This is often because they are confusing CBD with THC, which produces a high effect making it difficult to get to sleep.

One of the main therapeutic features of CBD oil is its ability to activate serotonin receptors in our brains. The ability to improve the reaction of our receptors improves the flow of serotonin, which helps to calm and soothe the whole body. This relaxes us and eases anxiety which enables us to get to sleep much easier.

It’s for this reason that CBD oil is often used to ease symptoms of difficult sleep disorders by treating the anxiety and discomfort often associated with them. CBD oil has been used for REM Behavioural Sleep Disorder and even as a popular extra help for treating severe cases of insomnia.

Is CBD Oil associated with depression?

CBD oil has been associated with depression because of its effect on serotonin receptors. Low serotonin levels are often the cause of depressive episodes, low mood and feelings of anxiety. It’s because of this that CBD oil has been used with success because, while it doesn’t increase the amount of serotonin in your body, it does help to improve your receptors response. Improved receptor response is key to increasing serotonin and soothing the body and the mind.

Research shows that CBD oil can not only have anti-anxiety and anti-depressant effects but is also useful in combating stress and low mood as a symptom of stress. Alongside this, is its use as a sleeping aid, where insomnia can also contribute to feelings of depression.
CBD oil has the added benefit of being faster acting than anti-depressants with fewer side effects and is a good option for those seeking an alternative, but is also effective when used in conjunction with prescribed medication.

Can CBD oil cause depression?

If you’re concerned about CBD oil causing symptoms of depression, you shouldn’t worry! CBD oil has been one of the go-to aids for symptoms of anxiety, depression and even improving cognitive functions. Used in conjunction with medical treatment CBD oil is effective in relieving symptoms associated with depression as well as issues that contribute to low moods, such as physical pain, discomfort and stress.
